注册.us域名称须符合以下条件：
- 任何美国公民或居民；
- 任何美国实体，如组织或公司；
- 任何美国以外的实体，如组织或公司，且真实存在于美国。
为了确保各个域名符合以上三条规则，受委托运营.us域名的NeuStar会频繁地抽查（spot checks）各个域名的注册资讯。因此.us域名的whois资讯无法隐藏，且注册者必须提供完整的联系方式。
