历史

该银行于1961年由加拿大商务银行^[7]（早期加拿大华侨称它为襟孖梳银行^[8]）和加拿大帝国银行（早期加拿大华侨称它为奄派路银行^[9]）通过合并形成现时的加拿大帝国商业银行。在此之前，他们两个曾是加拿大最大的银行。
