鲁塞尼亚语古卢森尼亚语古东斯拉夫语语言变体,最初在立陶宛大公国被使用,后期在波兰-立陶宛联邦的东斯拉夫地区被使用。书写语文被称作Chancery Slavonic[1]

学者们对于鲁塞尼亚语是否属于古东斯拉夫语西方方言意见不一,但他们一致认为鲁塞尼亚语与它有着密切的亲缘关系。古东斯拉夫语是10至13世纪的基辅罗斯通族语言[2]鲁塞尼亚语被视为现代白俄罗斯语卢森尼亚语乌克兰语的前身,事实上由古东斯拉夫语至卢森尼亚语,这些语言都被标签为鲁塞尼亚语(乌克兰语Рутенська мова)。
