馬士（英語：Hosea Ballou Morse，1855年7月18日 - 1934年2月13日），加拿大新斯科舍人，美國藉，曾是在李鴻章幕府內任職的一位西洋顧問[1]。 1874年從哈佛學院畢業後，一直至1908年，曾在大清皇家海關總稅務司服務。1881年在倫敦與妻子結婚。派駐倫敦時，加入皇家亞洲學會。不過，由於妻子討厭在中國的生活，馬士任職期間甚少與中國籍同事交往。1880年代，馬士的中國硬幣珍藏被大英博物館所購得。1895年乙未戰爭爆發時，他在淡水區任職，成為此戰重要的見證者。
他以退休後出版的學術著作聞名，最出名的著作是 The International Relations of the Chinese Empire（中譯本《中華帝國對外關係史》）[2][3]與 The Chronicles of the East India Company Trading to China: 1635 - 1834。[4]由於妻子厭惡新英格蘭，夫妻倆在馬士退休後便定居於英國薩里郡。馬士退休後經常到訪美國，並與昔日的哈佛同窗保持聯繫。1909年，他拒絕美國政府邀請他成為美國駐中國大使。第一次世界大戰時，成為英國公民（馬士的出生地為新斯科舍省）。
1934年2月，死於肺炎。
傳記
哈佛大學費正清教授是馬士的私淑弟子，於1995年出版馬士傳記 H. B. Morse, Customs Commissioner and Historian of China。[5]
