苏牟龙属（学名：Shuvosaurus）意思为“苏牟的蜥蜴”，它们是一群有喙状嘴的已灭绝爬行动物，生存于三叠纪的德州。化石是由萨克·查特吉（Sankar Chatterjee）的儿子苏牟发现，而在1993年由萨克·查特吉提出描述、命名[1][2]。苏牟龙起初被误认为是白垩纪似鸟龙科的三叠纪物种。然而，2006年因为在幽灵牧场发现它们的近亲灵鳄，显示出苏牟龙较亲近于鳄鱼；而这群动物与似鸟龙科的相似处则是趋同演化的结果[3]。另外，这个关于灵鳄的发现，证实查特吉鳄（Chatterjeea）是苏牟龙的异名[4]。
