怪兽宇宙（英语：MonsterVerse）[1]是一个美国跨媒体制作与虚构世界，主要以哥斯拉与金刚为主轴的怪兽电影系列。电影的发行商为华纳兄弟，而制片商则是传奇影业和东宝（《哥斯拉》系列）。
该宇宙的第一部作品为《哥斯拉》（2014年），同时也是“哥斯拉系列电影”的重启电影。第二部为《金刚：骷髅岛》（2017年），其也是“金刚系列电影”的重启。
发展
在《哥斯拉》（2014年）上映后几周，制片商传奇影业于2014年7月的圣地亚哥国际动漫展上证实，该公司已获得摩斯拉、拉顿和王者基多拉的版权，并在会场上揭露了概念图片，和以“冲突：不可避免让它们战斗”的字卡作结[2]。2015年9月，传奇宣布，电影《金刚：骷髅岛》将不会与环球影业共同合作计划。反之，它会与华纳兄弟共同发展，这使得哥斯拉和金刚这两大怪兽有望出现在同一部电影中[3][4]。
2015年10月，传奇宣布计划将金刚和哥斯拉交会于一部名为《哥斯拉大战金刚》的电影，并定于2020年推出。传奇计划建立一个以“君主（Monarch）”[注 1]为中心的共同宇宙，并将金刚和哥斯拉与其他经典的巨型超级怪兽集结在一起。尽管传奇现在与环球合作，但唯独该宇宙是与华纳兄弟共同合作[5]。10月，透露在《金刚：骷髅岛》将会提及君主计划[6]。
2016年5月，华纳兄弟宣布，《哥斯拉大战金刚》将于2020年5月29日上映，而《哥斯拉2》将从原来的2018年6月延期至2019年3月22日。同一个月，华纳兄弟透露，《哥斯拉》的导演盖瑞斯·爱德华退出了《哥斯拉2》，因为他想改拍摄小规模的电影[7]。2016年10月，传奇宣布，《哥斯拉2》将在其母公司万达的中国青岛东方影都拍摄[8]。同月，麦可·道格堤和查克·希尔兹正在为《哥斯拉2》撰写剧本；此外，传奇还打算成立一个编剧团来建立自己的哥斯拉-金刚宇宙，而艾力克斯·贾西亚将担任监制[9]。一天后，据报导，道格堤正在会谈担任《哥斯拉2》的导演[10]。2016年12月，传奇透露，《哥斯拉2》将正式定名为《哥斯拉2：怪兽之王》（Godzilla: King of the Monsters）[11][12]。
2017年1月初，有报导指出《哥斯拉2：怪兽之王》将于亚特兰大制作。同月，据报导，传奇影业的创始人汤玛士·塔尔从公司辞职，但仍继续担任哥斯拉和金刚系列电影的监制；此外，该宇宙被官方正式定名为“怪兽宇宙（MonsterVerse）”[13]。2017年3月，传奇影业集结了一个以泰瑞·罗西奥为首的编剧团，为《哥斯拉大战金刚》创作故事[14]。
《哥斯拉大战金刚》原本被视为怪兽宇宙的完结作。2021年4月，《哥斯拉大战金刚》上映后，据报导，怪兽宇宙有望以下一部作品《金刚之子》（Son of Kong ）延续。[15]
