达娃·索贝尔

达娃·索贝尔（英语：Dava Sobel，1947年6月15日—[1]），美国女性科学普及作家，出身纽约市布朗克斯。

经历

索贝尔毕业于布朗克斯科学高中和宾汉顿大学。而她自称因为受到当时在康乃尔大学任教的卡尔·萨根影响而决定成为科学普及作家[2][3][4]。

  • 《经度》（Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time）－本书所介绍的天才是约翰·哈里森，他花了数十年的时间说服英国海军部他的航海时计是准确的，并且可用来在海上测定经度，并获得了经度奖。ISBN 1-85702-571-7。该书获得1997年英国年度图书奖。

索贝尔是在世界各地观测日食的爱好者，她表示观测日食是“最接近看到奇迹的时刻”。直到2012年8月她已观测过8次日食[7]。

索贝尔于2012年担任美国笔会/爱德华·威尔逊科普文学奖评审[8]。
